The entire Mount Amiata is covered with thick vegetation, which from Oak reaches the Chestnut belt, then from 1000 meters up to the summit that of tall Beech. These varieties are found in a very short radius, this allows for excursions of a didactic nature, being able to observe numerous different species on the same day.

Of great interest is the Fir tree of Vivo, along the course of the Vivo creek, one of the few indigenous groups of this species left in Tuscany.

Walking through these woods, there are numerous secular trees among which we want to introduce you to ‘Faggione’, a centuries-old beech at the edge of the road that leads from Vivo to the “Capo Vetra” refuge LOOK AT THE ROUTE!
